Google Adsense and Google Affiliate Network are some of the two most commonly used programs to make money online. In one of my previous article that I wrote about  making money with Google affiliate program, I highlighted how to signup for a new Google affiliate account and some cons and pros of using the program. In this  post, I will be comparing the two Google programs; Adsense and Google Affiliate Network in order for you to be able to decide which one would be most suitable for you blog.

 

I am personally not using any of the Google programs in my blog not because I do not like them but only because, I find that it is very hard to run them in my blog especially because of their strict guidelines and the nature of the type of articles that I write in this website. However, Google Adsense still remains one of the best program for making money online, among others.

Google adsense seems to win over when I compare it with Google Affiliate Network program. Google adsense comes in form of text-ads, they are well targeted and they appear very neat in a blog. What you only need is a simple code  to place it in your blog, wherever you would like it to be.

You do not have to deal with advertisers unlike Google affiliate programs where you have to select advertisers and wait for them to approve your request. No updating of ads needed as it is automatically done.

Google adsense pays per click or impressions basis while the affiliate program requires a visitor or a reader from your blog to visit the website of the advertisers and buy something in order for you to earn a commission.

The other problem is that, if you will be dealing with Google affiliate programs, you must be doing some product selling or some product reviews in your blog. It is hard for you to fit the ads easily into your theme unlike the Google Adsense that can fit almost  in any blog. If you are not dealing with product or reviewing them, the ads would probably look out of place in a blog.

This does not mean that you should do away with Google affiliate programs, I still think that Google affiliate can still be a better option for some websites or when the right clients are targeted. Whether you choose to go with Google Adsense or Google Affiliate programs, it all depends on you and what you are doing in your blog. I personally would prefer using Google Adsense in this blog though I can still do with the Google affiliate programs since I also do product and service reviews.

Lastly, the decision to choose the best option solely lies on you and what might be good for you might not be good for someone else. If possible, you can still try to use both of them and find out which one works better for you.
